In Japan it's of course the opposite, so they can usually get better ones there than the English dub can, the English VAs often give me the feeling that they don't really like what they're doing. In the West, voicing anime characters, at least for most shows, is looked down upon a bit by voice actors. I don't really like the English VAs, they don't seems to put much effort into this compared to the Japanese Original ones. Neither were great but at least you get a bit of poke fan service in the mega special (a certain banned mega appeared).
POKEMON XY EPISODES ENGLISH DUB MOVIE
Not knocking you for watching it, I watched the mega Evo special and the diancie movie yesterday. If it's for younger kids obviously go dub. There are much better anime out there, Pokemon is really just there to sell the games and shit, no actual substance to the show. Though personally I don't see the attraction to the anime if you're in your late teens or something. But had I watched the show subbed, I wouldn't have liked the dub as much. For example I watched an anime called steins gate dubbed and had no trouble with it, and plan to watch the movie subbed, it doesn't effect me. When you hear a sub first it's hard to like the dub, but when you hear it dubbed first it's a little easier to listen to the sub in my experience. As for the dub, I watch a lot of anime and oftentimes whichever you hear first is the one you're most comfortable with. Just watch the mega evolution specials and you'll see what I'm saying.

Hearing their Japanese names which are most of the time completely different, is weird when you're used to the English names. I'd say go dubbed because of the names of the mons.
